Over the next six weeks we will delve into the book of Jonah in worship. We'll look at the alternatives to living lives of distress, depression, and alienation. The book of Jonah shows that we can know and follow God’s direction, that we can “turn around” and be redeemed, that our lives can issue forth in praise and thanksgiving, that we can be confident in faith and courage, that if we are open to grow, God will guide us. The book of Jonah also points to the compassion and empathy for one another and the world God loves that is most clearly seen in Christ. Through this sermon series we will begin to step out in faith and see the power of God. For truly, the spiritual life is more than a theory! We can overcome character defects with God’s help.

This year’s team will teach Vacation Bible School, lead Women’s Bible study and may undertake another construction project. Would you consider becoming a Prayer Partner to this year’s team? Announcements
At the June 8 meeting of the Session, the Worship Ministry Team presented the results of the congregational survey regarding the location and timing of the Contemporary Worship Service. After a review of the data and much thoughtful discussion, the elders voted to keep the Contemporary Worship Service in the Sanctuary, beginning at 9 a.m. The Third Service (at 7 p.m.) will also continue to be held in the Sanctuary. The survey results were strongly supportive of this decision (please see results below).

Do you have a green thumb? Do you enjoy digging in the dirt? Can you push a mower? Maybe you would like to join a team of NAPC gardeners and landscapers who are interested in keeping our grounds presentable. We will be led by one of our own who is a master gardener. All you need to do is volunteer one week a month to help with cutting the grass and simple trimming (which is about an hour a month). We will have the tools; we just need you! If you have thought about getting connected with a ministry, maybe this is the one. Please contact Hal Gersch for more information.
