JUNE 17-21, 2019 | Mission Madness
Our first step into missions is a week of local mission work which we call Mission Madness. All youth from rising 6th graders to graduating seniors are invited to join us for this week. After a youth has attended a week of Mission Madness, he or she is eligible to go with us on our biyearly Jamaica trip. Once they have a successful Jamaica experience and have completed the 10th grade, they can go on our bigger overseas trip which we take every three years.
This summer, Mission Madness is June 17-21. We will meet from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (Monday-Wednesday) and do mission work (yard work and light house cleaning) for members of our congregation. On Wednesday afternoon, we will head up to Lake Hartwell (Sue and Terry Baker are NAPC members who live in their lake house there during the week) and spend Wednesday and Thursday nights up there. Thursday morning, we will do mission work for an elderly man in Townville, SC. Thursday afternoon and Friday, we will play on the lake! We will return on Friday at 4 p.m.
The cost is $25 if you are just doing the activities in Atlanta and $60 if you are going to Lake Hartwell with us! Each morning, we will meet at the church at 9 a.m. We will finish at 3 p.m. (We actually spend the last few hours each day eating ice-cream, having a mission debrief and lesson and then playing “youth games!”) Pack a lunch and bring a water bottle! Friends and youth of all ages (6th-12th) are welcome! You are also welcome to come for whatever days/events work for you!
