Lisa Ellinger

Lisa Ellinger was born to a musical family and studied violin with Sonja Foster and later Mr. Jeff Multer and Mr. Harvey Thurmer at Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. The daughter of Atlanta Symphony violinists Juan and Carol Ramirez, Lisa attended the Paideia School and was raised in an enriching musical environment as her parents opened their home to such musical giants as Henyrk Szeryng, Gunther Schuller, Karel Husa, Frank Glazer, Joseph Silverstein and Irene Gubrud. Their performances with the Atlanta Virtuosi remain some of the most vivid of her formative years.

As a young adult, Lisa maintains a very active lifestyle. Her passion for music is now expressed in her management skills in music and community service. Along with her father, she helped found the award-winning Buckhead Youth Orchestra and serves as its general manager, overseeing operations and strategic planning for all international tours. The group has successfully toured Spain, Monaco, Puerto Rico, Mexico and France. Ms. Ellinger has an extensive background in Artist Management (both group and solo), Music Performance (violin), Music Education (General), and Special Education (General). She also is a member of the Board of the Atlanta Virtuosi Foundation and serves as general manager of the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra and the Buckhead Youth Orchestra.

Her work in the community includes Cure Childhood Cancer, Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, and the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Mrs. Ellinger currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Alliance Theatre. An active member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, where she currently serves on the Children’s Ministry Council and Chairs Vacation Bible School since 2010. Teaching Sunday School, since 2008, has been a great passion of hers also with serving on the Parents Council for the Preschool, and the Cultural Arts Committee. In addition, she is actively involved in her children’s school PTA and the Evansdale Education Foundation. Lisa is married with two young daughters, ages eleven and nine. As a family, they enjoy taking road trips, volunteering in outreach ministries, attending musical theatre performances and cooking.
