Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry,
North Avenue Presbyterian Church
Growing up as a Lutheran pastor’s kid in Omaha, I spent plenty of time at church. However, until recently, I have not spent much time in a Presbyterian church. Thanks to my wife, Lindsay Allward-Theimer, that has changed. I moved to Atlanta a year and half ago to be with her, and because of her involvement and love for NAPC, I have been worshiping with you since relocating. Teaching special education in low-income schools has shaped my view of ministry: everyone has creative ability and everyone craves belonging. Because of my students, I witnessed most clearly Christ among us, in our common pain and joy. Wheaton College (IL) and Duke Divinity helped me to cultivate a scriptural imagination, and this Spirit sensitivity was only refined while working with Anglican and Methodist churches. I’m grateful to be serving with the young adults at NAPC and to be among you as a friend.
