BIG AdventureB.I.G. ADVENTURE

Here at B.I.G. Adventure where we Believe In God, learning about Jesus and sharing Him with others is the BIGGEST and best thing in our life. The Bible is the BIG book, and we are excited about the adventure we will be taking together.

Most children in our church family get to know the nursery and its staff only a few weeks after birth. Childcare is tended by loving professionals and supplemented by volunteers. The workers keep in touch with parents via a pager system to ensure that parents know if their little one is in distress.

Our little ones (birth through pre-kindergarten) are gathered into classrooms by age and taught by ‘hands on’ activities. Each class is also given a special time to celebrate God through music. Classes are custom tailored to meet the needs of each specific age group.

Great North

GREAT NORTH

Here at Great North, learning about Jesus is great at North Avenue. Great North is alive with stories, games, crafts, and friends. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade gather in their classrooms to spend time engaging in an interactive Bible lesson. Children receive personal attention from a caring and committed teacher and build community with other children their age. Kids learn how the Bible is relevant and practical in their lives!

Academic Year Sunday Schedule
9:10-10 Junior Choir (Begins in September after Labor Day)
10-11 Sunday School
11 & 12 Lunch for families and friends ($6 per individual or $15 per family)

CHILDREN'S CHOIRS

Our Cherub Choir, for kids aged three through kindergarten, teaches musical skills like matching pitch, listening, moving to the beat, and playing instruments and musical games. The choir sings in worship services several times throughout the academic year. The Cherub Choir is directed by Melissa Banzhaf.

The Junior Choir is for kids in grades 1-5 and offers a unique chance to learn musical skills such as vocal production, singing as an ensemble as well as independently, beginning music reading, and instrument playing. Kids also learn things like when we use music in worship, classic hymns, and group prayers. The Junior Choir participates in worship services throughout the academic year!

For more choir information, contact Melinda Clark.

MEET MARTI JACKSON!

Marti claims Delray Beach, Florida as her hometown (though she has moved more than 20 times!). She graduated from Chadwick University with a Bachelors Degree in Business. Marti is also currently preparing for a Masters of Divinity from RTS. Marti is a preacher’s kid, married to her high school sweetheart, and a mom to two fabulous boys. She has served as a Pastor of Development as well as a Children & Families Minister. She also was a Christian recording artist in the 90’s. Before she and her husband Mike had children, Marti ran two successful companies that invested in family-run businesses and mom-and-child job sharing programs. As for why she ended up pursing ministry as a vocation, Marti says, “God called, and I finally picked up the phone.” She had oversight of children, youth, and college students as well as career ministries at a former church. A close friend of hers, who was a pastor, pointed out that she loved the family model and asked her to pray about taking that role at their church. The rest was history! Her favorite quote is “Children are our messengers to a future we will never see.” Marti says, “We can impact the future for Jesus Christ if we invest in our children now. It should not be a burden of faith, but a joy to carry THE message of Him to others.”

Interesting Marti Fact: Marti’s favorite kid’s movie is CARS for the great music and great lesson about caring for others.

Make sure you meet Marti (whether you have kids or not!). She’s the one usually wearing crazy slippers! You can stop by her office on the third floor (Room 306-B), call her at ext. 243 or e-mail her at marti@napc.org.
