Psalm 96 calls us to "sing
to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord all the earth!" The ministry of music
at North Avenue answers this charge with beautiful offerings
in all of our worship services. Talented musicians view their
offerings as worship, and in doing so, they help the congregation
as well to see God in new and vital ways. The Music Ministry
seeks to provide opportunities for all ages to worship, praise,
and know more fully the presence of God through his gift of
music.
Rehearsals: Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Sundays 8-8:30 a.m.
Children's Music Program
JUNIOR CHOIR
Sundays, 9:10 - 9:45 a.m.
Room 320
Children in grades 1-5 learn musical skills such as vocal production,
singing as an ensemble as well as independently, beginning music reading,
and instrument playing. Worship skills include the place of music in
worship, learning a hymn of the month, and group prayers. The Junior Choir
participates in worship services throughout the academic school year. The
year concludes with a musical production presented in May.
CHERUB CHOIR
Sundays, 9:10 - 9:45 a.m.
Room 204
This is a choir for preschool children ages 3-6. Musical skills learned
include matching pitch, listening, moving to the beat, and playing
instruments and musical games. Children learn about the role of music in
worship and the importance of the child’s participation. The Cherub Choir
sings at worship services several times during the academic school year.

For decades, the Chancel Choir at North Avenue

Christ, the mercy of God, and the in-dwelling

music with congregations and audiences in Atlanta,
participated in Charleston’s Piccolo Spoleto Festival,
and concertized in many well-known cathedrals
and churches in Germany, England, and Mexico.
Participants in the Chancel Choir include church
members and non-members, as well as students from
the surrounding colleges and universities. The
